I have dedicated over 29 years to teaching English as a second language, which has been a deeply fulfilling journey marked by continuous growth and learning. Over these years, I have had the privilege of instructing diverse groups of learners in various settings, both locally and internationally. My teaching journey began with a commitment to imparting language skills effectively and fostering a passion for learning among my students. Throughout my career, I have refined my instructional techniques, adapting them to meet the evolving needs of my students and the educational landscape. I have developed expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and assessment strategies, ensuring that each student receives personalized instruction tailored to their learning styles and abilities.

My experience extends beyond the classroom, as I have actively contributed to professional development initiatives for educators and collaborated with colleagues to enhance teaching methodologies. I have embraced innovative approaches such as digital storytelling and integrated technology to enrich the learning experience and engage students effectively. My journey in ESL teaching has been characterized by a deep-seated commitment to educational excellence, equity, and inclusion, aiming to empower students with the language skills and confidence needed for academic and personal success.

As the head of staff professional development for over a decade, I have played a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the educational landscape within my institution. My responsibilities have encompassed designing, organizing, and overseeing a comprehensive range of professional development programs aimed at empowering educators with the latest teaching methodologies and skills. These initiatives have included workshops, webinars, and symposiums that cater to the diverse needs of our faculty, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.

In this capacity, I have collaborated closely with stakeholders to identify training needs, develop strategic learning objectives, and implement effective training solutions. My leadership has been instrumental in cultivating a supportive environment where educators can thrive professionally and contribute effectively to student success. I have also leveraged my expertise to establish partnerships with international organizations and experts, bringing global perspectives and best practices to our local educational context.

Beyond program development, I have been actively involved in mentoring new faculty members, facilitating peer-to-peer learning, and advocating for policies that promote excellence in teaching and learning. My tenure as the head of staff professional development has been characterized by a commitment to innovation, equity, and inclusivity, ensuring that all educators have access to resources and opportunities that enhance their professional competencies and enrich the overall educational experience for our students.

I earned my MA in Linguistics from Yarmouk University, Jordan, in 1998, building a solid foundation in language theory and research methodologies. Prior to this, I completed my BA in English Language and Literature from Yarmouk University in 1994, where I developed a deep understanding of English literature and linguistic principles.

Additionally, I hold a TEYL (Teaching English to Young Learners) certificate from UMBC, USA, obtained in 2010, which has equipped me with specialized skills in teaching English effectively to young students. In 2011, I completed the "Shaping the Way We Teach English" program from Oregon State University, USA, focusing on innovative teaching methodologies and strategies.

Furthermore, I received an E-Teacher certificate from UMBC, USA, in 2010, enhancing my proficiency in utilizing educational technology to support language learning and teaching.

Over the years, I have pursued continuous professional development through various certificates from Cambridge University, specializing in developing teaching materials and teaching English in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region. These certifications have enriched my teaching practice, enabling me to incorporate diverse and effective instructional strategies tailored to the needs of my students in different educational settings.
