During My experience with Yaqoob, I recommended him due to his strong analytical, passion, and ownership for the business and the development of talent. He improved the end-to-end procurement process from Purchase Requisition up until issuance of Purchase Order and delivery of the material/service. Through various process improvement initiatives,  managed to shorten the procurement process and at the same time creating values to the company. This includes automating the approval via system, automating contract utilization tracking and others that enabled the department to deliver a high quality of service to the stakeholders.

Consequently he reduced the transactional POR-PO activities by aggressively creating long term agreements for frequently purchased materials and services. The number of established long term contracts had continuously increased over the years, develop his team strategic capabilities such as analyzing the purchase pattern, preparing long term proposal and others rather than focusing on one-off POR-PO process. It also benefiting his stakeholders as they can be assured that their requirements are available at all time in addition to reducing the requisition process

On another aspect, the Inventory, Warehouse and Logistics functions within his capacity as Supply Chain department had also been positively growing and improving. The IWL strategy had been fruitful as his strategy  to reduce the inventory holding cost (IHC) and surplus whilst maintaining zero warehouse incident in the warehouse. The success is translated into management’s trust the management approved the allocation of the new awarehouse at the Ghala, Musafah and the Yard.

His ICV contribution had been tremendously improved for the past few years. Not only the number of registered SMEs and SME Riyada had been increased, the number of PO issued and PO amount awarded to SME and SME Riyada had also significantly increased over the years. This was made possible through our ICV strategy which includes easing the participation of SME Riyada in our tender as well as structuring our tender to benefit SME Riyada i.e. subcontracting clause in our contract.

His vision also been creating values to the company by facilitating the revenue generating activities i.e. auction process, sales of crude oil, and etc. The strategy to appoint an online auction platform in facilitating all the company auctions allows ODC to ensure a transparent auction process while at the same time reaching to bigger pool of potential suppliers.  

His wide experience  exclusively within the Oil & Gas industry for over 15 years. Have worked with international owned and main Oil & Gas operators here in Oman such as  .
