حول Zeid Badurdeen:

A general physician with 28 years of clinical experience, including multidisciplinary research in environmental pollutions and kidney diseases for the past 9 years.  Which includes experienced in clinical trials (RCT) and translational biomarker research.  I am competent in working in the Luminex platform. My PhD thesis is a study in relation to clinical validation of candidate biomarkers for kidney diseases.

Contributions as a resource person

  1. Candidate Proteomic Biomarkers in Perspectives of Chronic Kidney Diseases, a resource person at Multiplexing with Luminex XMAP technology workshop, held at Faculty of Medicine, Sri Jayewardenepura on the 19th of May 2016.
  2. Making water safer- combating the disease and need for solutions, a resource person at National Chemical and process Engineering conference (COMPASS 2017) held at BMICH, Colombo, on the 25th of November 2016.
  3. The exposure and outcome biomarker interpretation in Epidemiological model; in Chronic low dose exposure to environmental toxins, at National Research Council (NRC) monthly meeting presentation at Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya on the 22nd of September 2016.
  4. A comprehensive study on patients presenting with acute interstitial nephritis from CKDu endemic regions- proposal for National Science Foundation (NSF) grant 2016, presented at NSF Colombo, on the 3rd of October 2016. 
  5. Causal relationship between Fluorosis and CKD/CKDu presented at CERTKiD, faculty of Medicine, university of Peradeniya, held on the 6th of March 2017. 

 Special contributions

  1. One of the contributors in National CKD Screening and Management guideline preparation.
  2. A resource person in Field program of UC Davis (University of California), USA, held in Sri Lanka, in August 2015.
  3. Co-ordinate and conduct renal care program in Giradurukotte and Wilgamuwa regions.
  4. Organize CKD/CKDu screening programs.
  5. Co-ordinate CERTKiD education programs held for trainers.
  6. Participated in sister center on-site CAPD education workshop organized by Stanford University, USA, held at renal transplant unit Teaching hospital Kandy on the 27th to 29th of December 2016.
  7. Organized the World Kidney Day 2016 international event held at Ginnoruwa Sri Lanka on Apr 2, 2016. The event was judged as the winner, sponsored by International Pediatric Nephrologists Association (IPNA).
