    Job Summary

    • To contribute to the curriculum/course development as a senior member of staff within the Department as appropriate.
    • To deliver inspirational teaching and where appropriate adopt research-informed teaching.
    • To design and be responsible for the contents of specific areas of teaching and learning.
    • To undertake academic duties to deliver high quality teaching, student learning support and assessment duties.
    • To support and comply with the College quality assurance standards and procedures.

    Additional duties of the Marine Engineering Lecturers include

    • To support the leadership and management of the department and developing new curriculum.
    • To undertake such specific roles/committee work as may be reasonably required.
    • To participate in relevant professional/advisory activities.
    • To carry out research and produce publications, or other research outputs, in line with personal objectives agreed in the Staff review process.
    • To supervise or assist with supervision of undergraduate or taught graduate (Masters) students.
    • To engage in continuous professional development.
    • To undertake external activities, which reflect and enhance the reputation of the College.
    • To comply with the College Health and Safety Policy.
    • To undertake any other duties as required by the Head of Department.

    Essential Requirements of the Marine Engineering Lecturers include

    Senior Lecturer
    • (7) Years in the specialization or master's degree as a minimum and experience not less than (10) years in the specialization (one).
    • Provides expertise in quality control in higher education, curriculum development and evaluation.
    • Preferably, have a membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) at the level of MRICS/AssocRICS
    Lecturer
    • Must have at least a minimum of two years in the field of higher education preferably with experience in the field of evaluation or have a minimum of a master's degree and experience of not less than (5) years in the field of higher education preferably with experience in the field of evaluation area .
    Preferably, have a membership of a professional organization (CEng / IEng).
