Company DescriptionOman Commercial Arbitration Centre (OAC), established under Royal Decree no. 26/2018, is dedicated to providing efficient and effective services in arbitration, mediation, conciliation, and other alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. The Center handles both local and international commercial disputes, contributing to the enhancement of Oman's business environment.
OCAC is committed to promoting fair, impartial, and professional resolution processes to foster economic growth and facilitate business stability in the region.
Role DescriptionThe Business Development Manager is responsible for driving case growth, institutional partnerships, and market visibility for OAC across Oman and the GCC.
The role leads the development and execution of OAC's sector outreach strategy across four target sectors — Financial Services, Oil & Gas, Construction, and SMEs — and is the primary relationship manager for key commercial, governmental, and institutional stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute OAC's annual Business Development Plan aligned with the 2026–2030 strategy.
Lead market outreach across the four specialist sectors (Financial Services, Oil & Gas, Construction, and SMEs) to drive case referrals.
Identify, pursue, and close institutional partnerships, MoUs, and cooperation agreements with sector bodies, government entities, chambers of commerce, and international arbitration institutions.
Manage and develop strategic relationships with law firms, corporate legal departments, banks, contractors, and SME associations to promote OAC as the forum of choice.
Coordinate OAC's participation in, and hosting of, domestic and international arbitration events, conferences, and seminars.Champion the OAC arbitration clause insertion campaign — working with OCCI, Ministry of Commerce, and key sector bodies to embed OAC clauses in standard commercial contracts.
Develop and deliver sector-specific presentations, proposals, and capability statements tailored to different stakeholder audiences.Manage the contractual marketing agency, ensuring effective delivery of social media, content, video, and digital campaigns aligned with OAC's brand.
Represent OAC at international arbitration weeks (Paris, London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai) to build bilateral relationships and generate case referrals.
Monitor and report on BD pipeline, stakeholder engagement metrics, case referral volumes, and MoU outcomes.Collaborate with the Registrar's team to ensure seamless onboarding and case experience for new clients.
Support the CEO in preparing presentations for government stakeholders, board reports, and partnership proposals.
Track regional competitive intelligence (DIAC, SCCA, ADGM Courts, BCDR) and advise on positioning strategy.
Contribute to the preparation of OAC's annual report and promotional publications.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field; an MBA or Master's in International Dispute Resolution is a strong advantage.
Minimum 6–8 years of experience in business development, institutional relations, or commercial development — ideally within a legal institution, arbitration body, law firm, financial institution, or professional services environment.
Proven track record of building partnerships, signing MoUs, and generating measurable business outcomes.Deep understanding of Oman's commercial and legal landscape, including Vision 2040 sectors and key industry players.
Established professional network across Omani and GCC business, legal, and government communities.
Excellent command of English and Arabic — able to present, negotiate, and produce high-quality written materials in both languages.
Strong public speaking and presentation skills; experienced at representing an institution at senior-level forums.
Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable operating in an emerging institutional environment.
Willingness to travel regionally (GCC and international) for events and relationship engagement.
