The ultimate objective of my professional career is to equip students to develop inquiring minds and curiosity about science and the natural world. To acquire knowledge, conceptual understanding, and skills to solve problems and make informed decisions in scientific and other contexts. I believe that our partnership will benefit both parties.

While studying for my BSc (Hons), I joined the Kenya Wildlife Service for the largest Insitu translocation of elephants. During my time there, I fine-tuned my scientific skills and laboratory work and developed a strong interest in getting enthusiastic youngsters from underprivileged backgrounds involved in the project.

After graduating, I travelled for three years as a diving instructor training an array of people how to dive and observe the underwater world. This was a great experience for me as the place I worked was used a lot by international schools for their extra curriculum activity. While working with the children, it became apparent that I had the skills of a good teacher. So, in 2009, I completed a TEFL course, applied for my first teaching position and have been teaching since then. I taught English in many countries until landing my first science position in Oman in 2019. I rediscovered my passion for science and enjoyed being back in that sector. While working there, I understood the importance of young people being involved and solving scientific problems at the school and within the community itself.

To achieve my objective, it is paramount that I plan and administer lessons of the highest quality using the latest and up-to-date pedagogical methods and approaches. Developing STEM lessons that not only encourage learning but facilitate it as well. At the school I am currently at, I am teaching KS3. I have set up marine biology and gardening extra curriculum activity.

During the iPGCE course, I gained fundamental knowledge of educational methods for ensuring and developing differentiated lessons within the science field. Secondly, I learned a variety of methods that will, in turn, allow my students to become vitalised and independent learners. Finally, with the combination of teaching diving and teaching, I have gained a good foundation for what it takes to be a teacher; I am committed to keep improving my teaching style and believe that with our collaboration, it is possible.
