A senior leader driving Quality, Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (QHSSE) excellence across the ASYAD Group, covering ASYAD Ports (Container/ General Cargo/ Passenger Terminals), ASYAD Shipping, ASYAD Dry Dock, ASYAD Logistics, Mwasalat Public Land and Ferry Transport, and ASYAD Free Zones.  Develop strategies to build and develop a strong health and safety culture across the group, ensuring compliance with national and international standards, and enhancing operational resilience.

Head of HSSE, Jan 2022 to July 2024.

Head the HSSE department activities within the Port of NEOM and lead the development and implementation of HSSE processes and systems of work for Port of NEOM operations, in compliance with Saudi Arabian National Center for Environmental Compliance standards and High Commission for Industrial Security (HCIS) standards for Health & Safety, Fire and Security. Develop strategic HSSE business plans to develop a proactive HSSE culture and mitigate and drive an incident and injury free workplace. Ensuring that relevant gap analysis is carried out in line with the Port Business plan to identify areas of non-compliance in relation to Health & Safety, Fire, Security and Environment for Port operations. Develop emergency plans and ensure effective emergency response to fire, medical, environmental and security incidents within the Port facility. Conduct site visits to review of contractors’ operations and management systems to identify areas for continuous improvement, and alignment with approved safe systems of work. Identify gaps and HSSE training needs for the Port of NEOM team and ensure training needs are met. Review and recommend project port designs to ensure that all HSSE requirements are included during the Port redevelopment plans. QHSE Manager, Jul 2008 to Sept 2021

Lead overall QHSE and Emergency Services department activities across four International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) code compliant Oil & Gas logistics port marine terminals, within high risk operations which are inclusive of oil & gas related heavy lift operations, loading & discharging of Offshore Support Vessels/ Ocean Going Vessels (stevedores), vessel bulking of hydrocarbon products and drilling fluids to/ from facility tank farms, container handling, workshop activities, port and camp facility construction & maintenance activities. Delivering proactive oil and gas downstream marine port logistic support to clients, such as ExxonMobil, TOTAL, Chevron, Shell, AGIP etc for multiple oil and gas upstream projects.

Educate onsite staff by interpreting safety practices and procedures in line with current legislation and regulations. Conduct HAZID, risk assessments to identify hazards to ensure effective HSE controls are in place. Compile and review method statements for operational tasks and compile project site HSE plans. Conduct effective incident investigations to determine root causes of incidents and corrective actions. Formulate and implement QHSE and emergency plans for each site in line with legislative, client, and company requirements. Keep record of management system documentation following company policies and state regulations. Visit sites to ensure compliance with management system. Identify needs for skills improvements and organise training programmes to enhance safety knowledge of staff and maintain zero accident culture. Ensure that Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and Environmental Audit Reports (EAR) are conducted in line with local government agency requirements. Collaborate with other departments to address HSE issues of clients, government offices, and contractors.
